Diabetes remains one of the most commonly diagnosed diseases in the world. The earlier treatment begins, the more manageable the condition will be.
Make sure you don’t have these 20 symptoms of diabetes. If you spot any of these warning signs from the list, be sure to visit your doctor as soon as possible to check your blood sugar levels.
1-Unintentional weight loss :
Although losing weight is a dream of some people, it can be a scary sign that the pancreas is not working properly. If weight loss has occurred without a change in diet and lifestyle, this will be one of the first signs of diabetes.
2-Rash on the legs :
Many diabetics before making their diagnosis noticed that small round or oval injuries appeared on their lower limbs. It’s believed that these spots, called diabetic dermopathy, are manifested in 55 % of all patients.
3-Constant fatigue :
Even if you are well-rested, but still feel tired, it’s definitely worth telling the doctor about it. Diabetes increases the normal levels of blood sugar, thus causing fatigue. In the later stages of advanced diabetes, blood circulation is restricted, which makes the body more weak and unyielding.
4-Blurred vision :
Although poor vision is already very common, pay attention to sudden changes, especially blurred vision. This is often a symptom of diabetes, as high blood sugar causes swelling in the eye tissues, distorting vision. Fortunately, for many people, this effect is temporary and goes away when the sugar level returns to normal.
5-Frequent infectious diseases :
High blood sugar levels associated with diabetes weaken a person’s immune system, making the body more susceptible to infections.
6-Sweet breath :
Diabetics often notice that they have sweet breaths before they’re diagnosed with the disease. This is a sign of diabetic ketoacidosis – a condition in which the body cannot effectively convert glucose into energy, keeping blood sugar levels at dangerous, potentially fatal levels if left untreated.
